Maximus is a versatile piano instructor with a strong background in both performance

and music theory. He is currently a Year 2 student at the Nanyang Academy of Fine

Arts, pursuing a Diploma in Music (Keyboard Studies) under the NAFA Entry Merit

Award — further showcasing his dedication and commitment to the craft.

Throughout his music journey, Maximus has earned prestigious accolades.

His achievements include:

● Gold Award in solo piano at the 7th Singapore Performers' Festival and Chamber Music Competition

● Gold Award in solo piano at the 8th Singapore Performers' Festival and Chamber Music Competition

● Bronze Award in the Artist Category at the 3rd Singapore International Music Competition

During his National Service, Maximus served as a pianist for the Diatonics Department

of the Music & Drama Company, where he performed at numerous high-profile events

and prestigious shows, including those attended by local ministers, foreign delegates,

and high-ranking military officials. Throughout this time, Maximus expanded his musical

repertoire, covering a wide range of genres from classical to pop, jazz, and local music.

Performances included both solo and ensemble work, such as duets, trios, string

quartets, and collaborations with Chinese instrumentalists. A highlight of this experience

was performing at the Istana for President Tharman’s swearing-in ceremony on 14th

September 2023, as well as performing at the Music and Drama Company’s very first

Homegrown Live at the OCBC Square in September 2024. He collaborated with a

fusion ensemble blending Western instruments with traditional Chinese instruments.

As an instructor, Maximus is passionate about nurturing students of all levels, tailoring

lessons to individual goals, whether it’s preparing for graded exams, improving

technique, or exploring various musical genres. With a teaching philosophy that

balances technical mastery with expressive artistry, he ensures students not only build

their skills but also develop a lifelong love for music.
